I was born in London south of the river into a typical working class family. I had a wonderful childhood, despite the hardships of growing up in the 1950's. Much of my early life was spent in New Zealand where some of my happiest moments were the years I spent working on a sheep station in the North Island.

I have seen a little of the world over the years but I am adamant that here in the Great Lakes we do indeed live in paradise. My time in New Zealand brought about a love for rugby union and my English heritage has given me more than a passing interest in football (soccer).
